I’m already tired and I still have two very long days ahead of me. On Monday, I finished off the program for the NCAA Midwest Super Regional Wrestling Championships that we are hosting this weekend. 17 teams with five ranked among the 25 in the country. There was a lot of work that went into this on my end. In addition to the program, I had to make a handbook for the coaches, set up the results website and help with any travel arrangements.
Today was very long. First I had to set up all the video equipment for our home basketball doubleheader. After that, I was off to the Heminger Center for the coaches meeting. The important task of the meeting was to seed each weight class. It was also time for the coaches to get familiar with me before the tournament began. I had to leave the meeting after an hour to get back to the gym. I was responsible for calling the stats for the men’s game. We have a stat program and a typist. I call out codes and numbers and he types it into the computer and the stats come out. Once the game was over, I had to write a story, post it to the website, send to our media and break down the video equipment. It was 12:30 pm by the time I got home.
